Andy Goldsworthy’s Sheepfolds

Sheepfolds is Cumbria County Council’s major countywide sculpture project created by the internationally acclaimed artist Andy Goldsworthy.
The project began in January 1996 and concluded in April 2003 and was part of the UK year of Visual Arts. The project achieved 46 folds, with the highest concentration of restored sheepfolds in Cumbria to be seen around Eden. There are three in the Kirkby Stephen area - Outhgill, Warcop and Brough with other sheepfolds around Appleby, Crosby Ravensworth and Shap.
