Eden Business to Business event held at Rheged hailed a success
Eden tourism operators gathered at Rheged recently to meet with front of house staff from hospitality businesses across Eden and the North Pennines at a special business to business event organised by us in Eden District Council’s Economic Development and Tourism team. The event was the last Eden Business to Business event before Local Government Reorganisation and the formation of Westmorland and Furness Council on 1 April 2023.
This event was also the first to be held since the Covid pandemic. The aim of the session was to provide tourism operators with the unique opportunity to meet front of house staff on a one to one basis. A wide range of attractions and food producers including Arragon’s Cycles, Bake4Eden, Beckstones Art Gallery, Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens, Hutton in the Forest, Penrith Toffee Shop and Settle to Carlisle Railway had the opportunity to promote themselves to all those attending the event.
The event has been heralded a success. Feedback from some of the tourism operators attending included, “It was wonderful to attend an ‘in-person’ event”, “new relationships have been created” and crucially, “new business secured”. The event was valued as an opportunity to meet face to face with representative’s working in the area’s visitor economy and as a source for making new contacts.
We also used the opportunity to raise awareness of our work to promote Eden, Ullswater and the North Pennines as an all year round visitor destination.
