Marmalade Awards launches for 2024 with the total raised from the 2023 Awards for Hospice Charities at £18,285 so far
The Marmalade Awards are pleased to announce another magnificent marmalade year with the amount raised from the 2023 awards being £18,285 so far for Hospice Charities. This amount included donations made by any entrants who chose to donate to their local hospice. Tim Nind, the 2023 Homemade winner has also nominated Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue Trust, who are based in Scotland, as his charity of choice. A percentage of the sales of his winning marmalade will go towards his nominated charity, the amount raised so far is £1320.
The cheque presentation ceremony to Hospice at Home took place at Dalemain Mansion, with a collection of volunteer marmalade enthusiasts, many of whom have supported the Awards since their creation. Representatives from Hospice at Home were Rev David Wood and Lady Elizabeth Leeming received the cheque from Beatrice Hasell-McCosh, the director of the Awards.

This donation to Hospice at Home launches the 2024 Marmalade Awards and Festival. Competition downloadable entry forms can be found on the Marmalade Awards website and the opening of the competition on 1st January 2024. Close of entry is 5th February. National Marmalade week will be from the 13th – 20th April 2024 with businesses across Cumbria and beyond turning orange for the week. The winner of the 2024 awards will be announced at the Marmalade Festival on Saturday 20th April, with thousands of marmalades on display, Artisan marmalades to try and buy, talks, tours and a visit from the nation’s favourite bear. The awards take place with the generous support from Fortnum and Mason, Rathbones, Westmorland Family, Lycetts and Paddington Bear.
