Filming in the Eden area
We have fabulous scenery on offer in Eden with many locations which have featured in films and TV series.
Scenes from the steam-powered train chase in Paddington 2 were filmed around Ullswater and the 1980s cult classic Withnail and I, was largely set in and around Penrith, but most of the filming was done at Shap and Bampton.
TV series filmed in the area include The A Word, which saw Christopher Eccleston filming scenes in Penrith.
Ullswater has featured on Robson Green's Weekend Escapes plus other series including 'Walking through history' with Tony Robinson, ITV1's 'Ade in Britain,' ITV1's 'The Adventurer's Guide to Britain, 'Susan Calman's Grand Days Out on Channel 5 and the BBC1 comedy 'Home from home' starring Johnny Vegas.
We hope to showcase more of the area and welcome more productions to film here soon!
