Appleby Tourist Information Centre
Appleby-in-Westmorland officially an 'Honorary Quidditch Town'
For several centuries, Appleby was the county town of Westmorland. With the creation of Cumbria in 1974, the name of the town was changed to preserve the name of the ancient county and as a reminder of the town's heritage. The Moot Hall has a plaque dated 1179 to commemorate Appleby's first written charter with the ground floor housing the Tourist Information Centre and Exhibition Room.
The friendly and knowledgeable team will help you make the most of your visit and can provide you with all you need to know about where to stay, where to eat, plus things to do and how to get here.
Come and see them while you are here and you won't miss a thing!
