Description
Set in an English country house, it blends over-the-top hijinks, slapstick, satire and a comedy of manners to present a unique portrait of an eccentric and endearing English family in the early 1920s.
Each of the four members of the Bliss family has invited a guest to stay at the family's country home for the weekend. The Bliss family's unpredictable behaviour leads to a series of raucous misunderstandings and romantic misadventures that only serve to show that there is no such things as a normal family. The guests, initially bemused and out of their depth, begin to unravel under the pressure of the Blisses' unconventional lifestyle leading to a crescendo of farcical situations and laugh-out-loud moments.
'Hay Fever' is a sparkling gem of British theatre, capturing the essence of Coward's sophisticated humour and timeless charm. Book your tickets and join the Bliss family for a weekend you're unlikely to forget!
Tickets will be on sale at Penrith TIC - 01768 867466.
