National commemoration of VE Day 80

At its meeting of the Communities Committee on Monday 14 October 2024, Penrith Town Council resolved to take part in a national VE Day Commemoration event.

The Council were invited by the Pageantmaster, Bruno Peek (along with other Town and Parish Councils as well as other organisations) to mark the 80th anniversary by lighting a beacon on Thursday 8 May 2025.
