Penrith May Day is one of Cumbria’s most beloved community celebrations, featuring a spectacular variety of fun entertainment throughout the day.

Following 40 fantastic years of the Penrith Lions Club organising the event for the town, this year sees Penrith Town Council take the lead for the event of the first time. 

The Council are seeking the build on the success of the Lions from the past 40 years and deliver a family-friendly event for the town which brings together the best of local culture, creativity, and community spirit. Whether you want to watch the parade, enjoy live performances, or explore the variety of community stalls, there’s something for everyone!

Highlights of the event will include:

• Funfair in Sandgate Bus Station
• Climbing Wall
• Internationally famous ‘Stanelli’s Super Circus’ performed by Upfront Puppet Theatre
• Village Fair with Classic Games
• Live Music
• Land Train
• Inflatable Fun and Games
• Arts and Crafts
• Street Entertainment
• Vehicle and Walking Parade

The event is free to attend.

12noon to 5pm (Funfair starts at 10am, all other activities start from 12noon).
