Winter Exhibition – Jamie Oldham

Jamie grew up in Cumbria under the Howgill Fells, has a degree in fine art from Bath and is an active member of the Lake Artists Society, plus the Keswick and Penrith art groups.

Description

Currently, he exibits in the region as well as in West London. He runs workshops to encourage others in his passion for bolder use of colour, capturing the changing light of the sky and painting [in oils] outside (year round). He lives close to the Solway coast which features regularly in his work.

“Nothing beats being in the landscape to be able to capture the shifting light and tones”.

As well as landscapes created in the open air, Jamie also works in several genres such as still life and birds in a range of media including acrylics, oils, cold wax, gouache and pastel.
